Ephesians 6:10-11
‘Finally. Be strong in the Lord and His mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.
This verse is a great guideline for daily living. If everyday you got up and started the morning with this prayer, you would be armed and prepared for the day. There is a battle going on each day between your sinful nature and continuing to walk with the mind of Christ. We must start the day with the full armor of God , visually put it on each day and as you do, you will set your mind and thoughts on the Lord, God who is mighty to save. So each day pray:
Lord, I put on:
The Helmut of Salvation-remember you are saved and pray for wisdom for the day
The Breastplate of Righteousness-remember God loves you with and everlasting and unconditional love. Walk in love this day. (Do not take offense)
The Shield of Faith- to deflect all the fiery darts of the enemy and recognize them as such.
The Sword of the Spirit- that defeats the enemy and his schemes with the Word of God (Our defensive weapon).
The Belt of Truth-which enables us to see the truth of God, who He is and what He can do. Who we are (in Him) and what He says we can do and His word and His Holy Spirit lives in us.
The Shoes of the Gospel of Peace- let us be peacemakers and not strife seekers.
Help me Lord to live this day as your salt and light and to make a difference this day for the kingdom of God. I pray to listen well and encourage often, In Jesus name, Amen.
Everyday, start the day with this prayer and you will indeed be prepared for the day with your mind alert and ready to do the Lord’s work that day.
